Welcome everyone to our blogspot. We are the Martin family. Jeff, Courtney and Elise. We've created the blog so we can stay in touch with our family and friends. Hopefully through pictures everyone will be able to watch Elise grow since we are far away from most of our loved ones. So, if everyone will be active participants in the blog, I think we'll have a good time.

Wednesday Night Tech Sessions

Lately I've been going to Wednesday night tech sessions with the local VW club guys.

Here I am with Mr. Berry and Butch. This was a staged photo. Mr. Berry won't let me actually work on his engine, I must not be old enough yet. Pretty soon I'm gonna take my engine over there and put it on his engine run stand and get it dialed in and ready to go back in my car. Mr. Berry has decades of experience working on VW's and I'm glad we get together and work on our cars.

Here's Mr. Berry's 1967 single cab.

Mr. Berry's 1967 standard. Also, blocking the front of the car is the engine run stand.

Here's the two trying to syphon oil into jugs. I eventually had to pour the oil out into the containers.

Oddly, the oil didn't flow through the tube that well. It was funny to watch them try though.

Elise playing with Duke

Here is ten month old Elise playing with her tabletop toy.
Notice her new Lloyd Christmas haircut that mommy gave her. Here's Elise and The Duke playing in his day bed. Duke seems to tolerate Elise, but not much else.

Duke would prefer it if Elise wouldn't mess with his toys. Lately Duke keeps a few of his toys on the porch, a few in his day bed, and the remaining in his night blanket. I've thought all along that Duke was from Texas, but it appears that he may be a morman from Utah. Looks like Duke will probably be voting for Mitt Romney in the upcoming primary.

Elise likes to help mommy keep the cabinets nice and orderly. At least once a day everything comes out onto the floor so we can put it back into it's correct place. Such a Helpie Helperton.
